The Hypertherm 220179 is the genuine OEM swirl ring for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium cutting on HyPerformance HPR260, HPR130, HPRXD, HD4070 and HD3070 systems.
The swirl ring controls the swirling action of the plasma gas around the electrode. That swirl centres the arc on the electrode and through the nozzle, which is what delivers faster cut speeds and thicker cut capability.
On HPR260, HPR130, HPRXD and HD4070 this swirl ring covers the 80 amp and 130 amp mild steel and stainless steel processes and the 130 amp aluminium process, and on HPR260, HPR130 and HPRXD it also serves the 130 amp bevel process. On HD3070 it covers the 80 amp and 100 amp mild steel processes, the 70 amp and 80 amp stainless steel processes and the 70 amp aluminium process.
