The Hypertherm 220187 is the genuine OEM 80 amp electrode for mild steel cutting on HyPerformance HPR260, HPR130, HPRXD, HD4070 and HD3070 systems.
The electrode is the starting point and electrical contact point of the plasma arc. It wears through the hafnium insert as it works, and replacing it on measured pit depth rather than on hours protects the nozzle and the torch behind it.
At 80 amps mild steel this electrode pairs with nozzle 220188, swirl ring 220179 and shield 220189. On HD3070 systems the same electrode also serves the 70 amp stainless steel and aluminium processes. A SilverPlus version, 420566, is available for the same process and typically delivers around twice the life of the copper electrode.
