The Hypertherm 220198 is the genuine OEM 130 amp shield for stainless steel and aluminium cutting on HyPerformance HPR260, HPR130, HPRXD and HD4070 systems.
The shield protects and cools the consumables behind it, taking the molten spatter thrown up during piercing so the nozzle does not. On some processes it also contributes to the swirling action of the plasma gas.
At 130 amps this shield pairs with electrode 220307, nozzle 220197 and swirl ring 220179 on both the stainless steel and aluminium processes. On HD3070 systems it also serves the 70 amp aluminium process.
