The Hypertherm 220436 is the genuine OEM 260A swirl ring for mild steel cutting on HyPerformance HPR260, HPR130 and HPRXD systems.
The swirl ring controls the swirling action of the plasma gas around the electrode. That swirl centres the arc on the electrode and through the nozzle, which is what delivers faster cut speeds and thicker cut capability.
At 260 amps this swirl ring pairs with electrode 220435 or SilverPlus electrode 220668, nozzle 220439 and shield 220440. It is also used on the 260 amp mild steel bevel process.
