The Hypertherm 220491 is the genuine OEM shield for the 130A oxygen mild-steel process on MAXPRO200, HSD130 and HyPro2000 systems.
The shield protects and cools the nozzle from molten spatter and helps direct the shield gas, so a dented or spatter-clogged shield quickly degrades pierce performance and edge quality. Genuine Hypertherm shields carry the vented geometry that stabilises the arc and improves piercing, a detail copies routinely get wrong.
Replace when the bore is eroded, gouged or heavily spattered.
