Part 220578 is the genuine Hypertherm shield cap with IHS tab for HSD130 plasma cutting systems, used across the oxygen, air and nitrogen processes.
The shield cap is the outer cap. It holds the shield in place over the nozzle and directs shield gas to it, and the IHS tab provides the ohmic contact point for initial height sensing. It is not a wearing part in the way a nozzle or electrode is, but replace it when the thread or sealing face is damaged, or when ohmic sensing becomes unreliable. Note that Hypertherm's HSD130 table prints this part under a Retaining cap column; the catalogue's own glossary defines the outer retaining cap as the shield cap, which is what we call it throughout.
If your machine does not use ohmic height sensing, 220490 is the same cap without the tab. For the 45 amp nitrogen and 130 amp H35 processes the HSD130 uses cap 220534, or 220533 without the tab.
