The Hypertherm 220764 is the genuine OEM 260A shield for mild steel cutting on HyPerformance HPRXD systems.
The shield protects and cools the consumables behind it, taking the molten spatter thrown up during piercing so the nozzle does not. On some processes it also contributes to the swirling action of the plasma gas.
At 260 amps mild steel this shield pairs with nozzle 220439, swirl ring 220436 and retaining cap 220760. HPR260/130 systems use shield 220440 for the same process.
