The Hypertherm 220815 is the genuine OEM 60A HDi shield for stainless steel cutting on HyPerformance HPRXD systems.
The shield protects and cools the consumables behind it, taking the molten spatter thrown up during piercing so the nozzle does not. On some processes it also contributes to the swirling action of the plasma gas.
This shield is specific to the 60 amp HDi process, which delivers HyDefinition cut quality on thin stainless from 3 mm to 6 mm. It pairs with nozzle 220847 and retaining cap 220814.
