The Hypertherm 220842 is the genuine OEM electrode for Duramax and Duramax Lock torches on the Powermax45 XP, Powermax65, Powermax85 and Powermax105, supplied as a pack of 5. It is the one electrode across the whole mechanised range, from 30-45 A FineCut through 45, 65, 85 and 105 A cutting.
The electrode carries the hafnium insert the arc starts from. Once the insert has pitted to around 1 mm deep, arc stability and cut quality drop quickly, so it is normally changed together with the nozzle.
For longer life where most of your cutting is 12 mm and under, Hypertherm offers the 220777 CopperPlus electrode in its place. Also available as a bulk pack of 25, Hypertherm part number 228767. Contact us to order.
Hypertherm publishes mechanised cut charts on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium using air, and on stainless steel using F5 at 45 to 105 A on the Powermax65, Powermax85 and Powermax105.
