The Hypertherm 420045 is the genuine OEM shield for the 200A Air and nitrogen processes on MAXPRO200 and HyPro2000 systems, spanning mild steel, stainless and aluminium.
As the outermost consumable at full amperage it does the hardest job, repelling spatter and cooling the nozzle, so a genuine vented shield pays back in pierce reliability and the life of the parts beneath it. Replace when the bore erodes or spatter build-up starts to affect cut quality.
On a MAXPRO200 the 200A oxygen mild-steel shield is 220832, not this part. On a MAX200 fitted with the HyPro2000 upgrade torch, catalogue 880620 R12 page 32 lists this shield for the 200A oxygen process instead.
