The Hypertherm 220180 is the genuine OEM swirl ring for the 30 amp mild steel process and the 45 amp stainless steel and aluminium processes on HyPerformance HPR260, HPR130, HPRXD, HD4070 and HD3070 systems.
The swirl ring controls the swirling action of the plasma gas around the electrode. That swirl centres the arc on the electrode and through the nozzle, which is what delivers faster cut speeds and thicker cut capability.
This swirl ring covers the 30 amp mild steel process, the 45 amp stainless steel and aluminium processes, and the 60 amp HDi process on HPRXD systems. At 45 amps it pairs with electrode 220308 and nozzle 220201.
