The Hypertherm 220997 is the genuine OEM swirl ring for Duramax Hyamp torches on the Powermax125. Hypertherm also lists Duramax Hyamp torches and consumables as compatible with the Powermax45 XP, Powermax65, Powermax85 and Powermax105, from 30 to 125 A.
The swirl ring spins the plasma gas around the electrode, which centres and stabilises the arc. A cracked, burnt or dirty swirl ring causes an erratic arc and short consumable life, even with a new nozzle and electrode.
Hypertherm publishes Powermax125 mechanised cut charts on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium using air. Hypertherm's F5 process is not intended for Duramax Hyamp torches or consumables.
