Product details
The Hypertherm 420530 is the genuine OEM 400A SilverPlus electrode for mild steel cutting on HyPerformance HPRXD systems.
SilverPlus uses a silver front end friction welded onto the copper base, giving a hafnium and silver interface that extracts more heat and allows a deeper pit before the electrode is spent. Because it wears with less debris build up inside the nozzle, it extends nozzle life as well as its own.
A fully used SilverPlus electrode reaches a pit depth of 2.0 mm, against 1.0 mm for copper, so measure with a pit depth gauge rather than judging by eye. At 300 to 400 amps SilverPlus typically delivers around 50 percent longer life than copper, rather than the roughly double it achieves from 80 to 260 amps. At 400 amps it pairs with nozzle 220632, swirl ring 220631 and shield 220636; the copper equivalent is 220629.
